How four generations of family passion and dedication have shaped our business
In 1964, my great grandfather started a small lawn care service that he ran from his home on York Street, Kitchener. He had a simple vision: to provide quality work, fair prices, and friendly service to his customers. He soon earned a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy landscaper, and his business, York Nursery, grew steadily over the years.
It wasn’t long before my own grandfather and his two brothers joined the business as partners. Together, they brought new ideas and skills to the company, and expanded the range of services to include design, installation, and maintenance of landscapes. They also invested in new equipment and technology and hired more staff to meet the growing demand. Under their leadership, the company established itself as a leader in the industry.
Keeping the tradition alive, my dad and two of his cousins that had grown up in the business, and had learned from their fathers and grandfather the values of hard work, customer satisfaction, and innovative thinking, soon joined in. They continued to uphold the high standards of quality and service that the company was known for and introduced new practices and products to enhance the environmental sustainability and aesthetic appeal of the landscapes. They also diversified the company’s portfolio to include commercial and public projects, as well as residential ones.
Today, I am working alongside my father as the fourth generation of the Hebel family to run a Landscape business. In 2013, dad and I established our own business, Green Ventures Landscape Care Limited. We both share the same passion and vision as our ancestors and are eager to learn from them and carry on their legacy. We are excited to continue bringing fresh perspectives and insights into the company and are always looking for new ways to improve and innovate. We are proud to be part of a family legacy that has been serving the community for over 60 years and look forward to many more years of success and growth.
